The After-Party Dress - Versatility is Key

From innocent Prom to fun After-Party

So you’ve decided you and your date are going to an after-party after the prom. Now, you need to know whether you will be changing into another dress or not. Depending on what kind of prom dress you wear, you may or may not need to change. It’s totally up to you if you want to buy another dress for this momentous occasion. Most girls do end up buying an after-party dress for a few reasons.

1.     They know if their parents see them leave in the after-party dress that they’d probably be in big trouble.
2.     They are easier to move in.
3.     They’re probably a little more revealing and a little sexier than your original prom dress.
However, if you buy a prom dress that’s suitable for both parties then go with one. Some girls don’t like the hassle of changing, and would rather just stay in one dress. It all depends on the prom dress you choose. If you go with a dress that’s movable and versatile, then you definitely won’t need to buy two dresses unless you really want to.
Buying two dresses does have its benefits though. You could do your hair and makeup differently, or even change your shoes to match the after-party dress. It would be like playing dress up and changing from one persona to another. You wear one dress to the prom and party in the other one. After-parties are definitely rowdier than proms and its way more crowded, so wearing a long, flowing dress is not a good idea. Short and mini dresses are perfect for the after-party. Hi-low dresses are good too, but just remember that the train in the back may be a little bulky in the club or venue where the party is. If the after-party is outside or even on a beach, definitely go with a shorter after-party dress. If your prom dress is already short and you’ll be able to dance in it then don’t bother buying another dress. You’ll be killing two birds with one stone if you buy a prom dress that can be considered an after-party dress, plus you save money.
Finding a Prom and After-Party dress all in one is worth it
Definitely figure out your after-prom plans before you start looking for a dress. Depending on what you’ll be doing and where you’ll be located, the dress you choose can make or break you. Going to a crowded club in a mermaid dress is not a good idea, so if you plan on going with a mermaid style dress then definitely buy an after-party dress. Whatever you choose, at the end of the night have fun and be careful. You can never re-do your senior prom so make sure it’s done your way!
This After-Party dress can be worn as a prom dress as well, so you wouldn't have to change! Versatility is Key!
