Dress Ideas: Short, Long or Hi-Low?

Not sure whether you want to go short or long when it comes to your prom dress? Well, here’s some information that will hopefully help in the process. Are you a leg person? By this I mean do you love showing off your legs? If your answer is yes then you’re most likely better off going short. Short prom dresses are easy to move and dance in so you won’t have to worry about doing those things. Another plus is the fact that no one will be able to step on the train of your dress. It’s truly annoying dancing with your date and realizing he’s tripping all over your dress. However, long dresses do have their advantages as well. They’re both mysterious and sexy all at the same time. If you aren’t a leg enthusiast then they will be great for you. If you don’t necessarily want a long, flowing dress you can get one that stops at your ankles, or go with a tea-length one. Tea-length dresses stop a few inches under your knees and aren’t too long or too short. If you like both short and long dresses you’re in luck. One of the hottest trends on the market is hi-low dresses (dresses that are short in the front and long in the back). Sounds strange, but it looks gorgeous.

The length of your dress is dependent on your personal preference as well as your comfort zone. If the thought of wearing a dress above the knee makes you twinge, then go a little longer. If you love your legs and want to show them off then go short. The great thing about prom season is the fact that wherever you are it’s usually pretty warm, so you won’t have to worry about freezing that night. If you are going to be in a colder climate then go long unless you have some really warm stockings. If you wish to go long but still want to show some leg, consider getting a dress with a leg slit in it. It shows just enough leg without showing too much. Once you determine your length decide on a neckline to match it. Halter, strapless and sweetheart are ideal for prom dresses of any length. Plunging necklines are now making a splash on the prom scene as well. If you go for a low-cut neckline then definitely go long. By doing this you will be leaving something to the mystery. Showing too much skin could make or break your outfit. Everything is dependent on the length so figure out which one you’d be most comfortable in!

Girls look younger when they wear these dresses. I believe long dresses might make them look older than they actually are, if they do not have the right cut. Girls Clothing
